The Paradores in Spain 

Paradores are the Spanish equivalent of the Pousada in Portugal, hotels built in Castles, Palaces, Fortresses, Convents, Monasteries and other historic buildings, usually incorporating the region's  traditional style in areas of outstanding beauty.

Found from Galicia in the North West through Catalunya to Andalusia in the south of Spain, the Canary Islands and in the Spanish cities in North Africa.

Much of the information about Pousadas can be applied to Paradors as well.
