The pousada is a former hunting lodge and has a terrace that provides a breathtaking view of the area including the Caniçada dam and one of Europe's largest wildlife preserves. Opened in 1968, it has 30 rooms, a swimming pool and air conditioning.

4. Pousada de N. Sra. de Oliveira - 

Guimarães

One of the least appreciated of the Pousadas of Portugal, this property was opened in 1973, this Pousada is an ancient Manor house in the historic heart of Guimarães. This is the birthplace of King D. Afonso Henriques, first king of Portugal. It has 16 rooms in an urban location.

5. Pousada de D. Dinis

Vila Nova de Cerveira

King Dom Dinis ordered the construction of this building in 1321 in the historic village of Vila Nova de Cerveira. Located just 13 km from the Spanish border, it is an excellent way station to or from Spain. This is one of the oldest of the Pousadas of Portugal  was opened in 1982 and it has 29 rooms with air conditioning in an urban location.
