Penha, this is one of the least known of the Pousadas of Portugal occupies the beautifully converted site of the 12th century monastery
founded when the order of St. Augustine was founded by Don Afonso. This building is
certainly one of the architectural treasures of Portugal. It has 51 air conditioned rooms
in converted monk's cells. This pousada would be the highlight of any trip.
