 Booking   Tips

1. Plan your journey. We suggest a minimum of 3 nights in Lisbon or on the Estoril Coast. Currently there are no Pousadas of Portugal here. Contact us for hotels.

2. Review the suggested itineraries. After each days recap, you will find suggested Pousadas of Portugal or Paradoes of Spain for overnight lodging. Use the pousada ratings to ensure your trip is right for your life style and budget. Make any variations to the routing that you like, change direction, add or subtract nights, but try to move in the sequence presented.

3. Don't make your air or rental car arrangements until you discuss your itinerary with us.

4. Choose the pousadas you would like and an alternate. Part of the charm of Pousadas of Portugal is that they are small, consequently, sometimes your first choice will not be available.

5. When planning your itinerary do not neglect the north of the country. This is a fabulous area and seldom visited by people from North America.

6. Keep in mind that although the distances between the pousadas are not great, the going, especially in the mountains and river valleys, can be slow. Plan accordingly. It will add to your enjoyment.

7. Call Pinto Basto to make the booking. Because Pousadas of Portugal are small, you can not expect to have rooms available for you if you arrive without a booking.
